My wife was having a weekend meeting in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi and I thought this might be a good way to have a look see around nearby Nilai at where people go to eat at night. With Rob & Suet in tow (well, they kind of invited themselves but we love their company anyway) we chanced upon a zinc roof type of restaurant on the main road of Nilai town. Well, it was about the only chinese place still open at midnight and there were several other diners there. Yes, I know - the crowds don't always tell the right story but we decided to chance it.
We had pig uterus fried with chili (RM15). It was certainly not up to Seremban standard, the uterus was not crunchy enough and there wasn't enough chili in the dish eventhough it's supposed to be fried with chili. So this was not so good.
Fortunately the next dish saved the night/morning. The hakka style three layer pork vermicelli (kau yuk beehoon) was very good. The Kau yuk was superb. You can clearly see the three layers plus feel and taste the difference in your mouth as well. The skin was soft but still retained a bit of crispness when I bit into it. The layer of fat in between the skin and the meat was almost like tow foo. The meat layer was firm but tender. And at RM11 we really had nothing to complain about here.
It all added up RM31 with drinks for the 4 of us.
