Shall we meet there to eat?
Shall we meet is the name of the place and like many Hong Kong eateries, they offer noodles, baked rice, toasts, etc.. except that their portions seem to be more generous. IIn my books where getting more value for your ringgit is prized, this is a good thing.
The beef brisket noodle (RM9.50) was certainly generous with the beef brisket and was lesser on the noodles. Usually at other places, you would find the opposite to be true.
The club sandwich (RM7.50) tasted as appealing as it looked. And my daughter could only finish half the serving.
The salted fish and shredded chicken fried rice (RM7.50) was decent but I found the salted fish way too salty for my liking.
The strangest dish that we had that night was the pork chop (RM18.90 for the dinner set.) The pork tasted really different ..... so different that we could not nail down the taste. While I wouldn't try it again, perhaps there are others who might venture to give it a go and find it to their tastes.
The winner of the night was the sweet and sour pork with rice (RM12.90 for the dinner set.) The pork ball was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Exactly how sweet and sour pork should be.
So I don't understand why Mongkok Char Chan Tang which is just opposite Shall We Meet still gets more business when the food here is superior and cheaper.
