Taiping Lang, Puchong Jaya |

We had not travelled to Puchong for awhile and since we had a dinner guest that night who had not sampled the food in Puchong, we decided to bring her there. There were some new shoplots in the Puchong Jaya area and as you know in Malaysia, where there are new shoplots in a densely populated area, there will always be new eateries.
A recently popular trend has been the opening of restaurants where they serve their grandmother's recipes. Taiping Lang claims to serve Taiping style cuisine prepared the way the owners grandmother did it years ago.
They don't have a wide variety in their menu and you can sample it all in one seating (if you have a party of 4 or 5) by calling a few of their sets.
We tried the Tou Yew Ba (pork stew in soya sauce), Assam Hu (light
assam fish curry), Bangkuang Cha (turnips shredded & fried with
cuttlefish), Aw Tnee Ba (pork fried in dark sweet soya sauce), Taucheo
Hu (fish in soya bean sauce), Chye-por Nooi (omelette with preserved
vegetables), Ba Kian (nyonya style pork sausage), Achat (spicy pickled
vegetable) and the Hu Pau (otak-otak).
And it was all good. What we especillay liked was the Tou Yew Ba. Authentic home cooked style food.
The bill came up to RM83.50 for 6 adults. Very decently price for a good meal.
