Do you know that tck 1920 hakkakaya of one utama has an italian sister. Well it's Pasta Fredo located at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. But actually who cares if they are sister outlets or not - what does the food taste like - that's the more important question?
Let's start with where it's located. It's at Lorong Rahim Kajai 14, near Restoran OK which has a decent char kuey teow, but we are not talking about char kuey teow here. Parking is relatively simple especially during weekends and evenings - so that is a good thing.
Currently they are having a set lunch promotion where the selected main meal is priced at RM6.90 and if for an additional RM3.00 you get a soft drink and a small cup of soup. Not a bad deal - important to find places where the ringgit can be stretched, especially with fuel prices the way they are.
We started off with a Pizza Diavola which had spicy pepperoni with cheese. A simple pizza for a man with simple taste - hehehehehe - NOT. The pizza was well OK. Not the best I have ever had - OK I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon for the pizza - nuff said.
The spaghetti cabonara was quite creamy with a nice dash of black pepper on it and turkey ham in it. Quite a decent helping too for RM6.90.
The foot long sausage was OK. It was a chicken sausage and if you have read this site long enough, you know what I think of chicken sausages.
The winner, if you can call it that, was the chicken chop (RM8.50) which was quite enjoyable - the meat being tender and succulent. The chips however were a bit burnt. There was a black sauce topping it, which I think the dish could have been better without. Well if you don't like sauce on your chicken chop, then tell them to hold it.
The meal for 5 people came up to RM69.23.
