Centrepoint has recently added a new wing to it's structure and where there are new retail shops, there are new food joints. Cagayan's is one of the new outlets there and what caught our eye was the fact that it was Filipino cuisine which we had not sampled before and that they served pork dishes. What we found out later was they serve a fusion of Japanese and Philippines cuisine, which I thought would be an interesting combination.

For starters, we had the golden mushroom bacon maki (RM7.90) which was actually a piece of golden mushroom wrapped in pork bacon and you know how much I love pork bacon. It would have been a nice starter if there wasn't a piece of rubber band in my mushroom.

We had the chicken adobo (RM6.90) which is a marinated chicken cooked in vinegar and spices which I did not find too appealling.

We then had the main course of the Regular Piggy (RM35.90) which was a 6 slab portion of tender ribs with classic sauce. The classic sauce caters more to western palates and is way too mild for asian palates. However, since I was having a cough, I decided to try it with the classic sauce. I can't say I enjoyed it because the sauce was a bit sweet and I don't really enjoy sweet pork. Perhaps I might have liked it better if I had gone for either the oriental or chili hot sauce.

We also had a variety of fried rice - Cagayan Fried Rice (RM5.90) which had ground pork in it, Fragrant Garlic Fried Rice (RM4.90) and the Salmon Garlic Fried Rice (RM7.90). All the fried rice, we felt, tended to be a bit bland tasting and was not very appealling to our local palates. However, this may very well be the way it is supposed to be, I am just saying that I did not find it appealling.

Our meal for 5 persons came up to RM94.
