I love pies and any time I see a chicken or steak pie that looks half good, I would be game to try. Seeing that there was a new pie outlet at One Utama, I decided that I was going to have that. No need to think about what to eat already - pie was it.

King Pie is located at where Baoz used to be, at the Lower Ground of One Utama. They have 19 varieties of pies and say they keep their pies fresh by baking a fresh batch every hour.

I had the pepper pie, which I found to be absolutely excellent. Their puff pastry was not too thick so that all you end up eating is pastry but it had the right mix of filling to pastry. What is the right ratio? I think when you take a bite into the pastry and you can already taste the filling, then it's a good sign.

My wife had the steak and onion pie, which she enjoyed just as thoroughly. Small pies cost RM3.50, medium sized pies cost RM4.50 and RM4.90 and large sized pies cost RM5.50 with the most expensive cheese burger pie at RM6.50.

King Pie has other outlets at KLCC and Tesco Mutiara Damansara.
