Maredo's Steakhouse, Kuala Lumpur E-mail

JX and I were in Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle and we had a choice of either having sausages or steak and since it was my turn to decide, I chose steak. So it was off to Maredo's Steakhouse, which I have passed everyday for a year and a half but have never visited.

Maredo's claims to bring a bit of Argentina to Malaysia serving Argentinian style steaks to Malaysian palates.

JX decided that he would have the steak set lunch. What arrived looked good. The steak looked tender and had the right amount of blood oozing out of it since JX asked for it medium rare. At RM24, this looked like a very good deal. However, that was as good as it got. The steak didn't taste anywhere as good it looked

I had the Beef Burger, whch at RM40 makes it the most expensive burger in town that I have sampled so far. Most expensive burger it may be but not the best. The burger patty was uneven in texture. It was hard on one half & soft on the other. While half the patty was tasty but neither half was juicy. The patty was just too dry. The Ramly Burger at Ampang Point is even juicier and far better value for money. However, like the steak - the burger was well presented.

Both meals came with a single serving of salad at the salad bar but the salad plate was so small, you can hardly can put anything on it. I wished they had a bigger salad bowl.

When we arrived at slightly pass 12 noon, we were the first diners to arrive and throughout our meal, we were only joined in the restaurant by another party of 5. That should have rang some alarm bells.
