Wong Soon Kee, Subang Jaya |

Located just off the Subang Jaya stretch of the New Pantai Expressway SS 14/1 and SS 14/2. These are two streets that could be termed as the wai sik kai/ wai sek kai/ waisikkai/ waisekkai of SS 14. There are over 10 eateries along those streets and here's one of them.
Located in the break between the two streets SS 14/1 and SS 14/2 is Restoran Wong Soon Kee. Some time back, I had been told by J'son Ho that the Char Kuey Teow there was good but having sampled it, it really wasn't that good.
What stands out there is actually the fried chicken. Lim Fried Chicken has apparently been a firm favourite among the locals there for a long time.
Very peculiarly, he only opens at about 2 pm. I arrived there on a Saturday afternoon at about 2:30 to see a long line of patrons waiting for the privilege of eating the fried chicken and the whole restaurant packed with diners. To get a table you have to get there before 2 pm.
The chicken is fried fresh and it goes on to the plates of diners as
fast as it gets out of Lim's wok. So you get as good a hot steaming
chicken as you can get. The smell of the chicken is very good and if food is all smell only - then Lim's fried chicken certainly gets full marks. The chicken is golden brown, the skin crispy and the meat quite tender though a tad bit on the dry side.
You can have your fried chicken with rice or chee cheong fun. While this is very good fried chicken, I think Segambut's Fried Chicken is still better. On average, each piece of chicken is about RM3.
