I had done an evening review of Restoran New Yew Sang but had not covered the daytime hawker stalls here yet until now. On one of our regular Saturday morning food tour, my wife and I decided we should try out this place since it was not too far from home. I remember having had the curry chee cheong fun and nasi kunyit here some years ago and I decided to give it a try again. I wasn't disappointed. I still like the curry chee cheong fun here. The curry is very lemak (lots of coconut milk in the curry which means it would also be not very healthy) and very tasty and it's the only place in Petaling Jaya that I have enjoyed the curry chee cheong fun. Each plate is RM3.50. The pork ball noodle is not too bad either. The "kon low" noodle my wife is nothing to shout about but the thing that sets them apart is their soup which was nice and pepperish and the chilli that they provide is a Thai style chilli which is unique. Each bowl is RM3.70.
Being the glutton that I am, I also had a bowl of Ipoh Hor Fun. And I am so glad that I did. The soup was excellent and I practically finished the whole bowl of soup. And there was no MSG in the soup - so you can safely drink the soup. Each bowl comes with a generous amount of chicken & prawns and costs RM4. The Steamed Ipoh Rice also looks very popular and it has been reported as good in some other magazines. The stall owner had the print out of the review on his stall.
