jin shan cheng steamboat pot. click meIt rained yet again this evening and immediately thought that it would be a good night for steamboat. We headed for the Sunway Mas area adjacent/behind to Aman Suria. Jin Shan Cheng serves authentic Szechuan styled steamboat together with the "ma-la" soup and sauces. I had been there more than a year ago with Eric and Li Ping and we perspired buckets because we asked for the extra hot "ma-la" soup as the main. Having learnt my lesson,  I ordered chicken soup for the main and the normal strength "ma-la" as the minor.

If you prefer, they also serve other types of soup like seafood soup so it's up to you. I went for the chicken soup and the soup was really good. They use actual chicken in their chicken soup so you get a really good soup base to  boil the meat and vegetables in.

jin shan cheng stomach and beef slices. click meWe had pork balls, beef balls, "sai tou" fish balls, pig's stomach, beef slices, pork slices, vegetables, sea cucumber, foo chook, mushrooms, vermicelli and fish noodles. Everything was excellent - maybe because the soups were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful dinner there.

What was interesting was the sauces they served which included a sesame seed sauce, a "ma-la" sauce, a "fu yi" (fermented bean curd_ sauce which I really liked and a peanut butter sauce. The peanut butter sauce helps to take the sting out of some of the "ma-la" meat.
