While we were having dinner at Restoran Nanking a few weeks back, I noticed that the stewed pork over at Restoran Sin Kong looked quite delicious. So that was where we headed one evening to try it out. My cousin who was back from England was dying for some "Hokkien Char" and I remembered the "Hokkien Char" stall at Sin Kong seemed quite popular - so off to USJ Taipan Triangle we went.
Parking around the USJ Taipan Triangle is always a pain and this night was no different. I double parked next to the coffee shop and made sure I kept an eye on the car so that I would not block anyone if they were about to go out. I am after all quite a responsible driver. :-)
The "Hokkien Char" was actually not that good eventhough it's supposed to be Ah Wa's branch. If this is the Ah Wah of Jalan 222, then this falls short of the mother store. The teow chew stewed herbal pork, however saved the night. The stall sells duck as well but more people seemed to be ordering the pork. Or maybe there were people ordering the duck but I think my brain kind of just filtered those out. Anyway I am glad I ordered the pork. I ordered a mix of pig's ears, intestines and pork meat and they were certainly generous with the portions that they served. The stew was full of herbs which really gave the meat a very lovely herbal taste. At RM9.70 for a single serving, it was actually enough for two people.
Anyway, if you are ever in the USJ Taipan Triangle looking for a good meal, check this place out.
