Located in Bangsar Village is one of the best looking Japanese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur. Arriving there on a late Sunday afternoon, we were ushered in to a very swanky looking restaurant with it's dim but atmospheric building lighting and a cool water feature on the wall. There were not many diners there at that time but the kitchen staff still looked rather busy.

mizu croquette. click meAnyway we were soon seated and we made our orders. We decided to have something rather light stuff because we just wanted to sample the food. We started off with a salmon maki which looked very ordinary when it arrived. However, all was not what it seemed. The salmon maki (RM12.00) was actually very good. The salmon itself was fresh and tasty, the rice was firm - a simple dish done very well. Next came Mizu's Special Croquette (RM18.00) which was a fried potato croquette served with a delightful mustard together with some lovely salad topped with a spicy salad dressing. This too was lovely as the croquette was fried to a golden crisp perfection and was just lovely to bite into.

mizu softshell maki. click meAfter that was the Soft Shell Maki (RM25.00) and the Salmon Skin Maki (RM20.00). At this point, we were just enjoying our meal thoroughly. The soft shell crab was crispy and though the salmon skin maki may be as good as good as Hilton's Iketeru offering, it nevertheless was quite good. What was interesting was that it was served on top of a daun kunyit to give it an extra bit of aroma. No disappointment here.

mizu chawan mushi. click meFinally we had a Chawan Mushi (RM10). Chawan Mushi is chawan mushi is chawan mushi. How exciting can a bowl of steamed egg get? Well, it can be pretty darn good. The egg's texture was almost like tofu and the heat throughout the chawan mushi was constant from the top right to the bottom of the bowl.  I guess that's why each bowl is RM10.

Altogether our meal came up to RM103.50 for three persons. Certainly worth it.
