Cheong Wah was previously located at Puchong Jaya but has relocated to a new premise in Pusat Bandar Puchong. We had lunch there and started off with a soup which had more ingredients like sotong, tau fu, prawns than soup. While it was a good deal, the soup was not very tasty.

suckling pigThe sweet gourd was not sweet at all. In fact it was downright bitter. Customer service was poor because when I brought this to their attention, they did not offer to change the plate or offer a discount. Instead he was trying to tell me why it was bitter. Duh, I am not interested in what caused it to be bitter. I am only interested if you would remove it off my tab.

What followed kind of made up for the gourd. The suckling pig was quite good. At RM45 for half a pig, it was quite a good deal. Of course, I could have a whole suckling pig for RM35 in China but that's another story altogether.

Mid way through lunch, the air con stops working and leaves half the restaurant without air conditioning.

cheong wah fried crabOur winner of the day was the crab fried with salted egg. however, it was not best I have had. The crab had ample meat but was not very tasty. Perhaps the chef didn't have enough kung fu to get the taste into the meat. My daughter actually peeled the crab meat by herself so that's quite an achievememt considering that it took me a lot longer to reach that stage than she did. I am proud of you, Bernice.

All in our bill came up to RM125 which was not too bad if not for the bitter incident with the "sweet gourd" and the failed air-condition.
