One of waisikkai.com's readers, Choy Fong, had posted up on the forum some time ago about a very prawn mee stall located opposite the rear of the Tama Sri Sentosa wet market. Being a prawn mee lover, I had to look several times for it before I was succesful. Once you know how to get there, it's actually quite easy but before that it's quite a nightmare. Taman Sri Sentora is located off the Old Klang Road and the turn off into it is actually under the elevated New Pantai Expressway.
I finally found it when I asked Rajan how to get there. Rajan lives around the area so he gave me directions to the market. Drive along Jalan Taman Sri Sentosa until you see the Petronas gas station on your left. Drive a bit more until you see a row of shops on your right. Take the first turning on the right. Go till the end of the road and turn left at the T junction. Take the first left turn and head towards the rear of the wet market. Look for a place to park and look out for the shop with the two prawns on a small signage. The stall has no name and operates in the backspace of the front shoplot, so there's no number on it either. That's getting there. Now on to the food.
Today was my third time there and I still haven't tried their prawn mee. This was despite reaching there just before 11 am. They were sold out. Can you believe that? The first time I was there, they were closed because they were having a holiday. The second time I was there (which was about 1 pm) they were closing up. This time, I went there early and they said they had incredibly good business today. Instead I discovered their Pepper Pig Stomach noodle instead. What an awesome discovery it turned out to be. The pepper pig stomach noodle was really good. The soup was peppery to the point that it left a heat imprint on the tongue but not so much that it made it numb. I wanted to finish all the soup but was afraid that it might have too much MSG in it. I am glad to report that one hour after having it, I am not sufferring any ill effects of MSG. The pork stomach was tender and it was sliced to long thin strips and actually looked like shredded chicken strips. Next time I think I wil order it with extra pork meatballs. Each bowl of noodle is RM4.
Excellent recommendation by Choy Fong to come here. I am already looking forward to my next trip to try their prawn mee.
