logenhaus spaghettiLogenhaus Roast & Grill which serves halal German cuisine is one of the pioneer tenants of USJ's Taipan Triangle area. The last time I was here was ... well, last century. 12 years ago in 1995. (Atticus, if you are reading this - the last time I was there was with you - I don't know whether you remember it) Many of the restaurants and establishments have come and gone but Logenhaus is still very much there. I was there on the first night of Raya holidays and the place was fully packed, testimony to Logenhaus' holding power.

Food arrived very quickly as we ordered the sets. 2 adult sets and 2 kids sets. A generous serving of garlic bread arrived with the soups. The chicken mushroom soup went down well with my children. My son, David, refused to share even one sip of his soup. While the oxtail soup was indeed tasty and there were ample bits of oxtail in it, it was perhaps a bit too watery for my liking.

The kids menu spaghetti bolognaise was actually a very generous portion and not some pathetic measly serving that you sometimes get in other restaurants. David could only finish half the serving while Bernice who has a healthy appettite found that it fully satisfied her. The spaghetti tasted excellent and there were good chunks of minced meat in it.

The Mignon wrapped with Beef Bacon was excellent. We asked for it medium rare and it came exactly the way we like it. The steak was thick, tender and juicy. The meat was topped with a lovely sauce which is specially made by the owner, Mr Kuan. There was pepper and garlic and some other stuff that I could not quite make out but it was a perfect complement to the steak. While we did not try it this visit, they are also famous for their roast chicken.

Our sets came with either coffee or Movenpick ice-cream. We all had the ice-cream and what took the cake was the way the kid's dessert came in a Donald Duck cup. It's been a long time since I have been back but I am glad we came back - 12 years later.

Bernice reported that the toilets were clean and free from unwanted smells.

Our meal for four - RM120.
