seafood potSince it was a holiday today, we decided to make a journey to Klang town to try the restaurants there. While we were initially looking for another restaurant that had been recommended by Jonathan Lee, we ended up at the Noble House Seafood Restaurant instead. But it was an inspired choice as we saw a couple of gold medals on the wall as we walked in. When you see those gold medals, you know the chef has some cooking chops.

Parking was easy, perhaps because most of the businesses around there were closed for the holidays. I realize that I have been talking quite a bit about ease of parking. It's important for me as my mother can't walk too far so finding a place in front of the restaurant is convenient for her.

The mixed seafood dish came in a heated plate and it had fish maw, sea cucumber and scallops in it. Nothing spectacular but very competent. The sauce was tasty enough but as the starter dish, it was a good kick off for our lunch. Next we had their special fried tau foo which was also quite good. Again nothing spectacular here but certainly good enough to satiate our taste buds.

Then came the yellow wine chicken which perhaps was the poorest dish of the day. There was not enough wine in it and we really couldn't make out the taste of the wine in it at all. The pork trotter in black vinegar proved to very popular with Eric and he subsequently finished it off and even sucking every last bone in the bowl. Peter & I felt that it was not sour enough but Eric loved it.

kailanSince everyone seemed to be having their "meen seen" soup, we decided that we would have that as well. I am glad we ordered it as we all loved it. Just a simple soup with noodles in it but it was so delightfully tasty that not one bit was left.

The star dish of the day was the "kai lan" which had one portion stir fried with garlic and the other portion fried with butter. The "kai lan" was fresh and the styles of stir fried and fried vegetables was superb. Who would have thought that such a standard dish would turn out to be the star.

Meal for 6 adults & 2 children - RM136.92

Verdict: We said we wouldn't mind coming back here.
