I had passed by Pu Yuan on several occassions, I had noticed that this place gets quite a crowd. several newspaper articles stuck to the window served as evidence of their quality. while i live just a short distance away from Pu Yuan, I had not been there yet. well, what can I say, Puchong is home to highest concentration of eateries per residents in selangor. It takes a while to get around to all of them. even Mr CKT, a Waisikkai regular and longer Puchong resident has not visited every single eatery in Puchong.

But it’s part of my quest to explore every eatery in Puchong, so it was with a sense of duty that I entered Pu Yuan with my posse of three.

The lady taking our orders suggested the following dishes - fried pork ribs with a spicy mayonnaise sauce, prawns topped in a special sauce served in lotus leaf, a vegetable and a fried duck served with special sauces. Seems every dish is topped with some special sauce.

The fried pork was good though I didn’t think too much of the spicy mayonnaise sauce. It was just a mix of mayo with thai chili sauce. they claim the prawn is one of their specialty. While it was not bad, I didn’t think it was that memorable. vegetable was fresh so that was ok.

Fortunately the duck was the one outstanding dish. the duck was crisp almost to the bone and didn’t have the usual gamey taste associated with most duck dishes. however, be warned that this dish is not often available so I am not sure this place warrants a shout out without the duck.

Our lunch for 4 came up to RM78.
